Garlic Plus
What is it called when you use a whole thing of garlic?
I know that the small piece is called a clove but what about the rest? I use elephant garlic in nearly all of my recipes because its stronger in flavor and aroma. Plus its excellent to use on pets coats if they have fleas because there is a lot of juice that comes out compared to the regular garlic.
It is called a head or a bulb of garlic. A head or bulb or garlic is +/- 10 cloves of garlic.
Actually elephant garlic is milder than regular garlic. Elephant garlic is to garlic as a leek is to onion. Some people call elephant garlic, garlic for people that don’t like garlic. It is not a substitute for ordinary garlic, it is much less intense and sweeter.
